CRUISE INFORMATION

Generally, we prefer Royal Caribbean or Norwegian Cruise Lines, although they keep geting bigger and bigger (as do they all). I do NOT LIKE LARGE CRUISE SHIPS - I would try to get on the smallest ship feasible, as when you get to port, you may have to (be somewhat pushy. and pre-plan knowing where to get off the ship) wait for 5,999 other people to get off first. "They" will then buy all of the souvenirs that you want, fill all of the shops and cafes, take all of the good tours that only get booked onshore (you can typically pre-book a lot of land tours through the Cruise line). I WOULD, PERSONALLY (my opinion), AVOID DISNEY (Carnival) CRUISES (unless you are going with kids) - too many kids and kids are more likely to be sick than adults. Don't get me wrong, Carnival is a good cruise line - I don't want to be around other people's kids on my holiday. Being married, I also avoid any "singles" cruises.

Most of the world (except the USA & most of North America [110-125 VAC]) runs on 220 to 240 Volts Alternating Current (VAC). Therefore, unless your electronic device states that it is dual voltage (110-240) volts, You will need a either a step-down transformer (these are heavy, but can run anything within their current capacity [watts or amps]), or a Voltage Converter, which can NOT run everything within it's current capacity). All modern battery operated devices have dual-voltage power supplies and will run on 110-250 VAC 50 to 60 Htz (but do check the label). There are may different electrical socket types used throughout the world, very few of them are shaped like the electric outlet sockets that we use here in the USA. NOTE that many of our USA appliances are NOT dual voltage (120 VAC & 240 VAC), so your adapter must both: 1] Convert from 240 VAC to 120 VAC and 2] To the appropriate foreign country electrical socket type. Most modern devices that run on batteries have dual-voltage chargers. Most of the world also uses a 50 Hertz frequency, rather than the 60 Hertz used here in the USA. This means, that if you step down the foreign 240 volts to our 120 volts, and attempt to use any kind of a USA motor (clock, razer, etc), the your appliance will run 5/6ths as fast as normal. this will not hurt your motor, but it may take longer to accomplish your task. It will make most electric USA clocks run too slow. The U.S. Government has started to start issue U.S. Passports with embedded RFID chips. The intent is to make it harder to forge passports. Unfortunately, the RFID chips used in some other country's passports have already been hacked (defeated), and that person's identity can then be stolen.
