Installing QLogic HAM Driver on NetWare

FOLLOW THE README INSTRUCTIONS

This is a synopsis of the Readme, which may change

C:\NWSERVER

1) The appropriate QL23xx.ham driver goes in the C:\NWSERVER directory 2) The appropriate QL23xx.ddi file goes in the C:\NWSERVER directory 3) The appropriate LSIMPE.CDM file goes in the C:\NWSERVER directory 4) Edit C:\NWSERVER\STARTUP.NCF A) If Neccessary add one of these lines per QL FC controller. Do place these lines after the lines for built-in adapters (such as Adaptec) You can use LIST STORAGE ADAPTERS OR CFG to show slot numbers. LOAD QL2300.HAM SLOT=<#> /LUNS /allpaths /portnames /xretry=400 THIS IS MY NetWare 5.1 STARTUP.NCF

WE USE MULTIPLE LUNs PER ID. ** To set the LUNs Per Target parameter: A) Reboot the host, and do CTLR-Q when QL2x00 banner appears. B) Select the desired adapter. C) Select Configuration Settings. D) Select Advanced Adapter Settings. E) Select LUNs Per Target: and change it to 32 F) Press ESC twice and SAVE changes G) Select Select Host Adapter H) Select the other adapter. I) Select Configuration Settings. J) Select Advanced Adapter Settings. K) Select LUNs Per Target: and change it to 32 L) Press ESC twice and select Save. M) Press ESC again N) SAVE changes O) and select Reboot. 6) You may also wish to set the Adapter hardloop ID to Disabled A) Reboot the host, and do ctlr-Q when QL2x00 banner appears. B) Select the desired adapter. C) Select Configuration Settings. D) Select Host Adapter Settings. E) Select Adapter hard Loop ID: and change it to Disabled F) Press ESC twice and SAVE changes G) Select Select Host Adapter H) Select the other adapter. I) Select Configuration Settings. J) Select Host Adapter Settings. K) Select Adapter hard Loop ID: and change it to Disabled L) Press ESC twice and select Save. M) Press ESC again and select Reboot NOTE: Steps 5 and 6 may be combined (boot only once)
