SMagent must be running on the Netware Host for In-band Storage Managment via the GUI to function. SMagent is not started automatically (perhaps it should be?). You need to manually start it in a CONSOLE window (do NOT use your X server window, as it will be tied up running SMagent). Remember too, that starting with Yuma1.2, the default folder for Storage Manger files/folders was switched from SYS:\storagemanager to SYS:\IBM_DS4000 (Yuma12 CMVC 267611). Thus you need to manually enter this command (assuming default install folders) in your System Console window: SYS:\IBM_DS4000\agent\smagent start 1] Ensure that you use the "start" parameter (although why it's needed, is beyond me - it should be the default) 2] I'm sure that you know the while NetWare ignores case in path names - NW does require that drive letters (which includes "SYS:") be capitalized. Then start IBM TotalStorage) StorageManager), you should notice that In-Band management is available in a few minutes.
