1) depmod -a ramdisk image name kernel version 2) mkinitrd -f /boot/initrd-2.4.9-newe.34smp.img 2.4.9-e.34smp 3) Edit /boot/grub/menu.lst ENSURE that you have a line similar to (edit in the name of your ram disk): "initrd /initrd-2.4.9-newe.34smp.img" that points to your new ram disk image
