QLogic QLREMOTE Log Files

SYS:\ETC\QLREMOTE.LOG Check this file if experiencing problems with QLogic's QLREMOTE.

Optional & Most Usefull: CONSOLE.LOG

\SYS:ETC\CONSOLE.LOG This is the most useful log file, and it contains all of the messages that rolled by too quickly for you to read.in the C:\NWSERVER\AUTOEXEC.NCF file. I would place it WAY up at the beginning, right after Server Name and This log file used to be OPTIONAL, and must be activated by adding the line: LOAD CONLOG MAXIMUM=1000 Server ID (if used) as you want to log as much information as feasable. This log file may now be automatic - I see it on my NW systems. CONSOLE.LOG resides in \SYS:ETC

ABEND.LOG

Hopefully, you will never see it. It is moved to SYS:\SYSTEM after the server is restarted after an Abend.

NW's AUTOMATIC LOG FILES

BOOT$$LOG.ERR

SYS:\SYSTEM\BOOT$LOG.ERR This log file is essentially worthless, and contains very little information, logged at almost the very end of the boot process. I read it with the NetWare edit program.

SYS$LOG.ERR

\SYSTEM directory This log file can be viewed with ConsoleOne,although the log file will be truncated, as it's too large (you will see the end of the log file). You may also view this log file with any of the text viewers.

VOL$LOG.ERR

SYS:\SYSTEM\VOL$LOG.ERR The Volume Log shows volume errors and status. It consists mostly of mount and unmount entries.

NSS.LOG

C:\NWSERVER\NSS.LOG

TT$$LOG.ERR

SYS:\SYSTEM\TT$LOG.ERR Only activated where TTS (Transaction Tracking System) is enabled - (only on traditional NetWare file system volumes, (not NSS).
