INSTALLING NETWARE SERVICE PACKS (not an overlay CD) 1. Download the service pack, which will be a self-expanding EXE 2. Place the EXE into a temporary folder 3. expand the EXE by double-clicking it, and answering YES (continue with expansion). NOTE: in some rare cases, you actually have to perform the expansion in a DOS window START RUN CMD cd to the directory containing the EXE invoke the EXE Answer YES, you want to continue unpacking 4. (Preferably) copy all of the unpacked Folders and files onto a CD that you are burning. 5. Place this CD in the CDROM drive of the Netware system that you want updated. 6. Ensure that you know what the name of the mounted CD is: In my case, I named the CD "NW65SP2" - I noticed that NetWare 6.5 w/sp 1.1 calls my drive: "CD_0000", if there is no name on the CD, otherwise, the mounted CD is called by the name of the CD. 7. NWCONFIG (from a NetWare Server Console window) Product Options Install aProduct Not Listed F3 (to specify a different path) NW65SP2:\ (this location must contain an IPS file) You will have to log in as the admin - which means the admin qaulified by the Context name. In my case, this is "admin.fl" - some people use ".admin.fl", then the password. - David Woodsmall c 2002 - 2017 http://www.woodsmall.com/ = Woodsmall's MAIN Web Page c 1987 - 2017 http://www.woodsmall.com/NetWare.htm
