I JUST ACTUALLY WANT YOU TO KNOW SOME OF THE WAYS IN WHICH THE INTERNET COMPANIES HAVE RECENTLY SCREWED US, THEIR CUSTOMERS:

Without net neutrality protections, Big Cable is destroying our internet.

Dear,

It's been nearly a year since the FCC's repeal of net neutrality went into effect, and the list of abuses by Big Cable is unbelievable:

  • Verizon slowed down a California fire department's data in the middle of the biggest wildfire in its history.1
  • CenturyLink blocked customers' internet access unless they viewed specific ads.2
  • Sprint interfered with Skype, possibly to push customers to its own service.3
  • Verizon, AT&T, and other big telecom companies slowed access to YouTube and Netflix.4

It can only get worse from here—unless we pass the Save the Internet Act and restore net neutrality protections. That's why we're helping launch a huge day of action on June 11, the anniversary of the end of net neutrality, to show just how the Big Telecom companies are holding our internet hostage.

Will you donate to help pass the Save the Internet Act?

Verizon, AT&T, Comcast, and the other Big Cable companies have made it extremely clear that they will not respect our rights online without strong net neutrality rules. That's why the House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed the Save the Internet Act.

Now Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is the #1 obstacle standing between the American people and net neutrality.

Net neutrality champion Rep. Anna Eshoo gave a speech Thursday urging the public to push the Senate to vote on the Save the Internet Act, saying that if it got to the floor, it would pass—which is why Sen. McConnell is blocking the vote.5

And Demand Progress is turning up the heat on Sen. McConnell in a big way. We're helping lead an effort with dozens of grassroots groups representing millions of people to call on the Senate to pass the Save the Internet Act. And we're planning a day of action on June 11, the one-year anniversary of the FCC's repeal going into effect, to gather the internet together to fight back against Big Telecom and Sen. McConnell.

We're mobilizing the net to overcome Mitch McConnell's effort to stop the Save the Internet Act. Will you donate to help get a vote on net neutrality in the Senate?

Thanks for standing with us.

Robert Cruickshank,
Demand Progress
