HOW TO PURIFY WATER FOR DRINKING - in a disaster

You should expect the Power to go out.
Do NOT count on being ablt to use the Internet
(PRINT ANY NEEDED INFORMATION BFORE THE DISASTER)

As I mentioned earlier, and as other mention, you will
PROBABLY have water (unless you have a well), but it
most likely will not be potable.

You can of course boil it (gas stove or outside BBQ),
or worst case scenario you can:

   add 1/8 teaspoon (or 8 drops) of unscented household
   (5.25% concentration) liquid bleach for each gallon
   of water, stir it well and let it stand for 30 minutes
   before you use it. ..."

People cannot assume that the water in the hurricane-
affected area is safe to drink. In the area hit by a
hurricane or tropical storm, water treatment plants may
not be operating.

Even if they are, storm damage and flooding can taint
water lines. Listen for public announcements about the
safety of the public water supply."
